A medical clearance will specify whether or not the employee is medically fit to perform the essential job functions of their position. The medical clearance includes an evaluation for respiratory clearance as well. If the employee is cleared to wear a respirator, a separate respiratory clearance statement will be issued. Determinations will be made at time of evaluation.
The medical clearance is based upon the employee participating in a complete head-to-toe physical examination, a complete blood panel, a health history questionnaire, an EKG, vision test, pulmonary function test, hearing test, and a stress test for those over the age of 40 or at the discretion of the provider. In addition, the employee’s specific job description is required.
